This year has been a tricky one for everyone, and I have had my own challenges to deal in this past year, but I have also tried to put some of my time to good use. I recently trained in the wonderful meditative practice of Yin Yoga.
Based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine Meridian system this floor based practice is very calming for the mind and body, whilst still offering its own challenges of moving into stillness. This practice, rather than warming the muscles as we do in our ‘Yang’ vinyasa flow style of classes, Yin yoga is practiced cold so as to target the facia (think tissue surrounding the muscles) and joints.
Yin Yoga is extremely popular and I look forward to delivering regular Yin classes in the near future.
